Rainbow
Beach
|
Rainbow Beach is the last chance to take a ride on a wave if you travel up north, as further up the reef and islands will mostly keep the waves away from the beaches. Enjoy a walk along the sandy beach during low tide, but don't forget to turn back early! The colorful sand stands for the name of this beach. Rainbow Beach is a typical recent tourist development which lies to the south of Fraser Island. It is only a small town, but it has hotels, motels, caravan parks and a holiday population which rises to over 4000 people. There is a ferry connecting Rainbow Beach with the southern tip of Fraser Island.
